Book of the month:
Jerusalem : One City, Three Faiths
By Karen Armestrong
Paperback - Ballantine Books, 1997

British religious scholar Armstrong (A History of God) has written a provocative, splendid historical portrait of Jerusalem that will reward those seeking to fathom a strife-torn city. Her overarching theme, that Jerusalem has been central to the experience and "sacred geography" of Jews, Muslims and Christians and thus has led to deadly struggles for dominance, is a familiar one, yet she brings to her sweeping, profusely illustrated narrative a grasp of sociopolitical conditions seldom found in other books. Armstrong spares none of the three monotheisms in her critique of intolerant policies as she ponders the supreme irony that the Holy City, revered by the faithful as symbol and site of harmony and integration, has been a contentious place where the faiths have fought constantly, not only with one another but within themselves, in bitter factions. Her condemnation of Israel's 1967 annexation of the Old City and East Jerusalem in the Six-Day War ("It was impossible for Israelis to see the matter objectively, since at the [Western Wall] they had encountered the Jewish soul"), however, pushes too far her theme of sacred geography as the physical embodiment of motivating myths and legends.-- they had encountered the Jewish soul"), however, pushes too far her theme of sacred geography as the physical embodiment of motivating myths and legends.

Personal Web-site

Hiya, in simple terms, I am the one who is in the most influential and critical position, I am the one who is responsible for the web-site, Database, and all the other IT aspect of the Educational Bookshop.

My job has two dimentions, firstly and through the web-site, I am responsible for delivering the face of the company to the whole world, making sure I use the best terms and tools to better present the company.

On the other hand, I handle the technical and the computerized backbone of the Educational Bookshop, it is my role to find and invest in the best ways to manage, coordinate, and deliver the company services.

As I said it is a very critical and essential role in this fast growing 21st digital century. Providing the limitation and the difficulties we encounter every day, the Educational Bookshop proves to be yet again the pioneer company, moving smoothly into the digital age, making the most of it.

I have been privileged to be in such a position, given that I am still in my educational and academic years, I see the level of trust that I have gained, and I hope that I will be always up to expectations. Nevertheless, I do accept any comments or suggestions about the web-site, or the technology involved in delivering our services.
